Sub Rosa Sessions: JP Biondo & Neil Minet
Event description
Sub Rosa Sessions: Revival #9 features guitar picking/strumming songwriters - JP Biondo (of Cabinet) and Neil Minet.
Eighteen years on the road with his band “Cabinet” has led JP Biondo on a songwriters journey through the worlds of Folk, Bluegrass, Country, Jam, and sometimes a dash of Reggae music. His first solo release, “Blue Radio”, plays like a melancholic tale of losing love. His next album, yet to be titled, is due for release in the spring of 2025. Biondo now takes a different route, applying a full band to his songs and drawing on inspiration from the likes of artists The Band, Little Feat, and Willie Nelson. Strap in and sit back for some fresh Americana straight out of the NorthEast.
Neil Minet loves performing almost as much as he loves adventuring in solitude. Born, raised, and currently working in rural, upstate New York, Neil is a singer-songwriter and guitarist on a never ending search for the right sound, the right word, and the right story. He enjoys playing small listening rooms as much as he enjoys large stages and as a listener first, finds his purpose in making music that can give back some small sliver of the joy he’s experienced from it himself. His earliest roots are in the blues, his earliest guitar lessons in folk/Americana, and his earliest gigs playing bluegrass and rock ‘n roll. Somewhere between those genres is where Neil began his journey. His final destination: unknown.
Sub Rosa, literally means "Under The Rose" and the rose historically used to symbolize secrecy, is a fitting name for these semi-private sessions which limit to 90 guests to attend. Sub Rosa Sessions uphold a truly unique, high-end listening experience since it's beginnings in 2012, when it was founded and hosted by singer-songwriter Amanda Rogers for 4 years at Subcat Studios.
The revival of the monthly series now commences at her new space in Downtown Syracuse, Pink Rock Culture Co-op, where this listening room concert is an immersive experience for the attendees and performers to connect and share in the live concert - hearing music the way the artist intended. Sub Rosa let's the listeners in on the secret of why music moves our spirit to sing, dance, cry, melt, and soar.
Pink Rock Culture Co-op is an all-ages creative community gathering space for artists and the community to connect, expand, experiment, create, collaborate, stretch, learn, and champion each other! A 1350 Square Foot downtown Flex-space for any and all events! Founded and Curated by Amanda Rogers. email her for more information, space usage, and collaborations.
