Night for Takayna Screening — Melbourne
Event description
Join us in Naarm / Melbourne on 6 December for a first release screenings of ‘Takayna — the Heart of Lutruwita’ as part of our Night for Takayna events across the country.
Through the power of personal stories, be taken on a journey to the vast and threatened landscapes of Australia’s largest temperate rainforest in the northwest of Lutruwita / Tasmania. This area, known as Takayna / Tarkine, is one of the last wild places on Earth.
‘Takayna — the Heart of Lutruwita’ is an inspiring and hopeful film about the battle to defend Takayna from mining and logging. From frontline activists to Tasmanian Aboriginal community members, scientists and musicians, these people are standing up for its protection, and you can join them too.
Each screening will be hosted by local campaigners and volunteers from our foundation and followed by a discussion and Q&A with activists, artists, runners and scientists with firsthand experience of Takayna. More details on speakers to be confirmed.
You can also purchase a copy of the new book Takayna/Tarkine : One of the last wild places on earth by Australian Geographic to get delivered straight to your door. Don't miss out on this opportunity.
