Talking the Talk: tips on pitching, events & interviews for writers (DAYTIME)

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

You've started (or finished!) your book project and now you have to start talking about it, but the thought of it makes you feel slightly panicked? Join author and podcaster, Kate Mildenhall, for a jam-packed session filled with tips, exercises and strategies to help you talk about your writing project with confidence. This seminar is for aspiring, emerging, mid-career and even established writers who want to improve their skills at pitching, interviews (as either guest or host) and delivering successful events. Kate draws on her experience of learning along the publicity trail for her novels Skylarking (2016) and The Mother Fault (2020) and on what she's learned from the hundreds of authors she's interviewed on The First Time podcast, on stage at festivals and online for lit events.

Participants in the Talking the Talk seminar for Writing NSW in November 2022 said:

'The seminar was INCREDIBLE. Can't thank you enough for your knowledge, generosity and high vibes in support of other writers no matter what stage they are at.' Amy Lovat, Secret Book Stuff + debut author

'Wonderful to meet you and such a brilliant seminar. Love the pod, love your first two books...and now love your teaching.' Susan McCreery, published author

'Thank you for a powerful workshop jam packed with so much information. I loved it, lots to think about.' Lina Jabour, emerging writer

For this, the first time Kate is running this course online, she is offering a special discounted rate of $50 (plus Humanitix fees & GST) to participants. Course space is limited to 20 participants.
