    Event description

Are you a school or early learning centre educator interested in teaching your students about sustainability? Get motivated at Brimbank's Teachers' Environment Network (TEN) professional development event where an expert from Environment Education Victoria (EEV) will demonstrate various educational environmental activities that you can run with your school or ELC students.

In this workshop, we'll demonstrate two or three sustainability actions that you can run in your school or early learning centre, such as:

    • Radical Recycle Relay: Students will learn how to sort recyclables in a fun and competitive game
    • Insect Safari: Students will be able to identify features of different minibeasts/insects and how they have adapted to their environments. Part of this activity is how to catch insects for ID, to release after the session.
    • Whole school transport audit: Running an active transport survey at an educational facility to capture how people travel to school, and how we can improve active transport numbers.

This event is open to teachers and staff who work at schools and early learning centres from all council areas.

This venue is wheelchair accessible. Photos and video will be taken at this event, but there is an option to opt out on the day.

We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive community. This program values ALL community members and the diversity they bring through their sexualities, genders, ages, ethnicities, cultures and abilities.

Brimbank City Council respectfully acknowledges and recognises the Wurundjeri and Bunurong peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this land and pays respect to their Elders past and present.
