Does your child have an interest in robotics, programming or technology? Come along to our July School Holiday program for a workshop packed with STEM-filled fun!

When: Monday July 8th (School Holidays)

Where: Main Hall @ West Pennant Hills Community Centre

Choose from two age-appropriate sessions:


9AM–12:30PM — SCHOOL GRADES 1-4

Learn the basics of programming and robotics with fun activities that challenge creativity

 Program your original creations with Invention Engine

  • Be introduced to simple block coding

  • Bring your very own cardboard creations to life

  • Be challenged to think outside the box to come up with creative solutions

 

Develop robotics skills with Ozobots

  • Use coloured markers and Ozobot ‘colour codes’ to program the Ozobot to move in certain directions and complete specific tasks.

  • Create routes and code Ozobot to perform different tricks at different points on the map

 

Develop coding skills with the Intelino Smart Train

  • Use tactile coding and block-based programming

  • Complete interactive challenges and objectives with hands-on fun

  • Get creative by designing train tracks and new commands for Smart Train to complete

1:00PM–2:30PM — 4-5YRS, KINDY

A fun and age-appropriate introduction to robotics and STEM skills

Introduction to tactile coding with Intelino Smart Train

  • Enjoy fun, hands-on play that introduces coding concepts

  • Get creative with screen-free tactile coding with coloured tiles

 

Introduction to programming with Makey Makey

  • Be introduced to simple circuits and conductivity using alligator clips to connect conductive objects to computer keys

  • Learn the basics of programming to complete fun objectives like turning everyday objects into instruments
