Event description

This FREE 3.5 hour workshop explores the dynamics of coercion and control within the context of family and domestic violence (FDV). Frontline staff and primary responders to FDV often encounter situations where a person is subjecting their current or former partner to coercive controlling tactics. Recognising coercive control and understanding patterns of behaviour is critical to better support the people you work with and help shape a safer community for all.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Define the dynamics and features of coercive control
  2. Build knowledge of perpetrator behaviour categories and tactics
  3. Understand the impacts of coercive control on victim-survivors and children
  4. Identify red flags and high-risk factors
  5. Provide effective and trauma-informed responses to women experiencing coercive control

The workshop is for frontline staff, primary responders and services working with victim-survivors experiencing FDV and their families.
