Event description

Join us for an interesting lunchtime webinar outlining the Place and Walking System (PAWS) – a groundbreaking AI model designed to analyse and enhance walkability in urban centres.

PAWS leverages cutting-edge AI, big data analysis, and geospatial analytics to assess over 100 variables that influence walking. It identifies key factors that encourage or suppress pedestrian movement, providing data-driven insights to inform evidence-based urban planning, active transport strategies, and place-based improvements.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How PAWS assesses entire centres to evaluate walkability
  • The key urban design factors that shape pedestrian activity
  • How councils, planners, and transport agencies are using PAWS to improve walkability
  • Real-world applications of PAWS across NSW, including projects with Transport for NSW, the NSW Department of Planning (DPHI), and local councils

This session will be hosted by Vivendi Cities: Nick Fletcher, Sara StaceMarc Lane and Lyndon Pereira.

We welcome an interactive discussion – so please bring your questions, ideas, and feedback.
