Australis Collective: Volume II | At Two-Thirty
Sunday 15 November 2026 | 2:30pm
Blackwood Memorial Hall
Approx. 50 minutes
Australis Collective returns for its second concert series, Volume II, bringing together five Adelaide musicians for an afternoon of wind chamber music.
Following our debut performances in May, this new program explores the colour, character and versatility of the wind quintet, with music spanning the twentieth century through to contemporary Australian composition.
Featuring Anne Cawrse's Honeybee, movements from Carl Nielsen's Wind Quintet, Jacques Ibert's Trois pièces brèves and Malcolm Arnold's Three Shanties, the program moves between delicate textures, playful exchanges and bold, energetic writing.
Returning from our inaugural ensemble are clarinettist Gordon Richter, horn player Lauren Owens and bassoonist Angus McBride, joined by two additional musicians for this new program.
Volume II | At Two-Thirty continues Australis Collective's commitment to bringing musicians together across different stages of their careers and creating more opportunities for chamber music in Adelaide.
We look forward to welcoming you to Blackwood Memorial Hall for the next instalment.
