Watercolour Florals_Oct 18th 2026
Description
Step into the world of loose, expressive watercolour and discover the beauty of painting from life in Libby’s studio. This workshop is designed for all levels of ability—whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to deepen your practice.
Be inspired by natives such as Banksias, along with a variety of beautiful garden flora, as you explore the wonderful qualities of watercolour, mark-making, and ink in a relaxed and supportive setting.
Working with artist-quality materials and the rich, luminous colours of Daniel Smith paints, award-winning artist Libby Derham will guide you through techniques to improve your observational drawing skills, understand tonal qualities in watercolour to build depth and atmosphere, and explore the differences between various inks and how they behave on paper. You’ll also experiment with unconventional drawing and painting tools, encouraging a more intuitive and expressive approach to image-making.
This workshop offers plenty of individual guidance, creative encouragement, and space to loosen up, take risks, and build confidence in your own visual language.
All materials are supplied. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron. Morning tea included.
