    Event description

Join the Women's Research Engineers Network (WREN) for an engaging and transformative free workshop on Developing a Research Record!

Academics and researchers are constantly being told to increase their research outputs if they want to get promoted, funded or even keep their jobs! But it becomes a catch 22 when you can’t do much research because you have no money, but no one will give you money because you haven’t done enough research. Despite this situation there are ways to build a research track record that require less money and can give you the start you need to build a decent track record (or even just to keep your head above water!).

In this workshop, you will learn how to create research outputs that don’t cost much money, including:

    • Finding small pots of money and PUBLISHING
    • Working with research higher degree and other students and PUBLISHING
    • Working with others and PUBLISHING
    • Creating 2 for 1 deals and PUBLISHING

The workshop will be conducted by Dr Hugh Kearns from iThinkWell. Kearns is recognized internationally as a public speaker, educator, and researcher. He regularly lectures at universities worldwide, including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Berkeley, Stanford, ETH Zurich, and the Max Planck Group. In addition, he has coached individuals, teams, and executives in a wide range of organizations in the public and private sectors.

Researchers from all genders, levels, and backgrounds are welcome!

The workshop will be held online on May 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm AEST*.

Participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn how to develop a research record on a shoe string.

This event is supported by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources through the Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship Program.

    * Please, note that the times are shown for Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), you can use the time zone converter wordtimebuddy to check the equivalent time at your location.
