Learning Club: "The Corruption of Co-Design"

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Co-design is not fundamentally new, but in just the past five years, practitioners and theorists alike have found themselves grappling with the complexities of participatory work – of doing things with other people. So, what’s changed?

In this session, we’ll discuss a new book with the provocative title, The Corruption of Co-Design (2023) by Karl Palmås and Otto von Busch. This critique is short and accessible, yet academic and potentially out-of-touch. It is also far from a definitive account of co-design. So, in this learning club, we’ll discuss the book as raw material for a discussion about our professional experience.

What will this look like?

In the first 90-minute session, we’ll reflect on the book and discuss how it adds to our practice. Then, in part two, we’ll discuss how we can expand our practice beyond the book.

Who is this for?

This learning club is for people who have explored or experimented with co-design in practice, and who want to reflect on their experience through discussing a very short and accessible (yet academic and potentially out-of-touch) critique of co-design.

Who is leading this CoDesignCo event?

Kea Members Danny Spitzberg and Rachael Dietkus are co-facilitating the learning club.

When is it going to happen?
