Corvallis Village Rising Grief Ritual
Event description
Please come join us in a full day of intentional grief work amongst other fellow grieving humans! We will incorporate a bit of grief education, but mostly delve into experiential grief work. We will do a variety of somatic exercises, brief writing exercises as well as large and small group sharing. We will build up to a grief ritual in the afternoon that was brought to the west by Malidoma and Sobonofu Some- Dagara people from Burkino Faso Africa. It is a powerful ritual that creates space for participants to move their grief through crying, sobbing, keening, or even raging. There is such a deep power of being witnessed and supported in one's process by the other participants.
We offer community grief ritual with the intention of mending the various rifts and tears that humans incur along the way, individually and systemically. Our intention is that this space be as nourishing and easeful as possible for this vulnerable and challenging work. It is our belief that intentional grieving spaces are desperately needed in these times, for our own hearts and the collective. Furthermore- we believe this work is medicine- soothing the soul that has been sucked into a society that focuses on individualism. We promise this experience will help you feel not so alone- and tap back into the feeling of belonging.
No one is turned away for lack of funds, so please email us at villagerisingrituals.com if you would like a scholarship;)
