Cost of Living Community Forum ~With Corangamite Candidates
Event description
The cost of living crisis is the number one issue impacting our community right now. Rising rents, mortgage stress, skyrocketing energy and insurance bills - these pressures are making life increasingly difficult for families, young people, and seniors alike.
In the lead-up to the federal election, this community forum is an opportunity for you to hear directly from the candidates running for the seat of Corangamite about how their parties plan to address the cost of living crisis. While this is a broad issue, we are focusing on two of the biggest challenges: housing affordability and energy bills.
At this forum, you will:
- Hear from local residents sharing their lived experiences of housing stress and energy affordability.
- Listen to candidates outline their plans to tackle these critical issues.
- Learn about key policy solutions that can make a real difference.
- See candidates asked to commit to backing policy solutions that will help ease the cost-of-living crisis for our community.
This is your chance to be part of the conversation, understand the candidates and make an informed decision for the election and take action too !
Due to time constraints, we will have limited time for live questions during the event. We will be asking questions per topic to the candidates, chosen from those submitted by attendees prior to the event. If you would like to submit a question, please include it in your registration, and it will be considered in the selection process.
A light supper (sandwiches) will be available on arrival. Please arrive by 6.15pm so we can start 6.30pm sharp.
