COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria member-only event: Beyond Age workshop and photo shoot
Event description
Our first Beyond Age workshop will be held on Wednesday 19 March from 2pm – 4.30pm in the Majorca Room of the City Library, 253 Flinders Lane, Melbourne (between Swanston and Elizabeth Streets).
This event is exclusive to members of COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria, and is capped at 25 attendees.
The workshop will be in 2 parts:
- Part 1: Discussion on ageing and ageism
- Part 2: Beyond Age Photo Shoot
A professional photographer will be in attendance to take individual photos of each person attending the workshop.
Requirements
- Be willing and consent to images of yourself being used in a public campaign Beyond Age, which aims to reduce ageism in the community. Beyond Age will be the main theme for 2025 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in June.
- Attend the Beyond Age workshop on 19 March from 2pm – 4:30pm.
- Each person attending the workshop is required to bring with them a photo of when they were in their late teens through to their late 20s. This will be scanned by staff on the day and returned to the participant.
- Each person attending the workshop will be photographed by a professional photographer. This image will be used with the person’s photo of when they were younger. The photographer will video parts of the workshop as well. The final video will be used as part of the campaign.
- Sign a consent form which will allow COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria to use images and verbal quotes from participants at the workshop in the Beyond Age campaign.
Participation and attendance at the workshop are voluntary.
Participants must also be members of COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria. Not a member? Sign up for FREE here.
