Country and conservation: exploring culture and biodiversity at Myponga Reservoir Reserve

Join us together with Drew Kilner and Nature Play SA for an ecology walk exploring the relationships between culture, biodiversity and conservation at Myponga Reservoir Reserve.

We’ll explore different vegetation types and consider how plants, animals and ecological systems are connected. We’ll look at the role of habitat restoration and discuss how conservation approaches can support threatened species and the wider landscape.

Drew Kilner, a Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri man, will share cultural knowledge and connections to Country, bringing another perspective to our understanding of the reserve and the importance of caring for the places we live and visit.

The walk will also introduce the work being undertaken through Reservoirs for Nature and explore how restoration can contribute to the future of the reserve.

This event is part of our climate change and biodiversity initiative, Reservoirs for Nature, which is restoring habitat at Myponga and Mount Bold Reservoir Reserves to support the recovery of threatened species.
