Courageous Conversations: Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Event description
Calling all service providers and community members.
Join us for an important and informative session dedicated to Ovarian Cancer Awareness.
Due to vague symptoms and the lack of an early detection test, about 70% of cases are diagnosed in advanced stages, when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body.
There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer. A pap smear, which detects cervical cancer, does not screen for ovarian cancer. Approximately 1,815 Australians are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year.
This highlights the critical need for greater awareness of signs n symptoms, risk and protective factors and treatment options.
But wait there is more... after the information session, we will walk to Luma's new medical clinic at 189 Lakeside Drive (4 minutes away), where we will enjoy a tasty morning tea together. Grab this unique opportunity to talk with Luma medical staff and get your questions answered.
