This special Anti-Poverty Week event will explore lessons from the pandemic, and discuss how the virus exploited vulnerable communities and exacerbated pre-pandemic levels of poverty and hardship.

We'll also look ahead to how the state's recovery strategy should be shaped.

  • Amity Durham,Deputy Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services
  • Hutch Hussein, Brotherhood of St Laurence COVID-19 Policy & Program Response Taskforce
  • Mel Thomson, TaskForce Community Agency
  • Michael Graham, Victorian Aboriginal Health Service
  • Chris Forbes, Mallee Family Care
  • Emma King, VCOSS CEO

This event will also include an update from Victorian Public Health Commander (COVID) Nicole Brady, as part of VCOSS and DHHS's ongoing commitment to keep the community sector informed about the latest developments through the pandemic.
