Cowboys and Country at Historic Rivermill
Description
Pull on your boots and spend a Saturday by the river at Cowboys & Country, a western festival bringing country music, animal encounters and bush traditions to Historic Rivermill.
Set on the banks of the Coomera River in the Gold Coast Hinterland, this scenic spot is around 30 minutes from the Gold Coast. Whether you’re planning a family outing, catching up with friends or enjoying a day out as a couple, there’s plenty to explore at your own pace.
Held on selected Saturdays, Cowboys & Country brings together:
10am - 1pm Line dancing: No partner or experience needed.
10am - 11am Reptile show: meet Australian reptiles up close with a licensed handler.
All day:Whip cracking: experience the unmistakable crack of a stockwhip during demonstrations throughout the day.
Mechanical bull: put your balance to the test, with the operator adjusting the difficulty to suit each rider’s age. Children can join in too, with waivers managed on site.
Horse rides: enjoy a short, led ride around the property, suitable for children and adults.
Animal feeding: hand-feed alpacas and goats, or experience turtle feeding in the river.
Market stalls: browse local growers and makers.
Jumping castle and kids’ corner: plenty to keep younger visitors entertained.
Live country music: settle in and soak up the riverside atmosphere.
Make a day of it with breakfast at the café, lunch from midday, and barbecue favourites and a sausage sizzle available throughout the day.
