PLEASE NOTE: Due to candidate availability and competing events, Housing Matters has decided to change format. This is no longer a live Meet the Candidates Forum, instead we will be interviewing willing candidates with a set of housing related questions. These interviews will then be shared on our website and social media. If you would like to be emailed the links as soon as they are available, please still register for this event. Housing is a major issue across the Cowper electorate and across much of Australia. Housing Matters has been working locally and advocating more broadly for regional housing issues since 2018. The housing issues being experienced by many are complicated and multi-faceted and there is no quick and easy solution, however, that does not mean that we can't work together to find a range of solutions.
We're inviting you to join us and hear from the Cowper candidates what they think about housing, what are their ideas and solutions and how, if elected, they will work to improve the housing system and deliver meaningful change to households across Cowper.
Topics will include:
- Housing and climate change
- Cost of housing
- Role of government in housing system and solutions
- Social housing / New models / Initiatives
