Join us to discover how CPTED can be applied at a precinct scale to drive revitalisation, collaboration, and integrated place management
This interactive workshop introduces Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and placemaking principles tailored for decision-makers, local services and security professionals. You’ll explore simple, place-based strategies to support long-term revitalisation goals.
Through case studies, group activities, and leading examples, the workshop blends practical learning with hands-on activities to give you ideas that can be applied immediately to your precinct.
Participants will leave with greater awareness, practical tools, and an action list tailored to their precinct scale, helping to create community spaces that are safe, vibrant and welcoming.

What you'll learn
Through presentations, hands-on brainstorming activities and group discussion you will:
Get familiarised with Regenerative Placemaking and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
Strategies for safer, vibrant public and community spaces, including social and physical aspects of place.
How placemaking and CPTED can be applied in public and community spaces.
Applying CPTED at a precinct scale with locally tailored strategies.
A tailored list of actions for your community to integrate collective CPTED learnings into the fabric of your place. This will include 'Small Wins' that can be implemented directly by the community and 'Big Wins' which may require partnerships and additional support.
