Central Queensland Regional Singing Symposium


Event description

Join us in Rockhampton at The Old Art Gallery (next to the Pilbeam Theatre) for a packed one and a half days of interactive workshops, presentations, masterclasses and discussions. Explore innovative teaching techniques, share best practices, build connections, sing together and discuss current trends in singing voice education with our visiting presenters. Warm up your skills as we delve into body & breath; vocal health; vocal anatomy & physiology; vocal function and more. This is a weekend not to be missed by singing teachers, singers and singing students.

Presenters 

Central Queensland Regional Singing Symposium presenter Wendy Rolls


Wendy Rolls enjoys working with singers of all ages as teacher, conductor and performer. She teaches singing at her private studio and Brisbane Girls Grammar School where she also conducts an auditioned chamber choir for middle school girls. Following a Master of Music Studies (vocal pedagogy) at QCGU, Wendy is now midway through a PhD study, exploring the influence of singing lessons on adolescent girls undergoing voice change. She also holds a BVSc (UQ), BEd (QUT), and an Australian Kodály Certificate. She has presented for ANCA, ANATS and Kodály Australia and is currently Vice President of ANATS Qld Chapter.

Central Queensland Regional Singing Symposium presenter Kath Williams


Kath Williams is a passionate teacher; multi-instrumentalist and live performer; and holds a Masters in Vocal Pedagogy and Contemporary Performance from Qld Conservatorium. Utilising a holistic bio-psych-social approach, Kath teaches contemporary vocal styles and healthy singing at all levels, including performance craft and repertoire coaching from her private studio in the Noosa Hinterland and gigs on the Sunshine Coast. Kath specializes in vocal health, trained with VHP U.K. An affiliate teacher in CoreSinging TM Kath is also a member of Faculty Development Group in Somatic Voicework TM The LoVetri Method. Kath directs two popular Contemporary Community Choirs on the Sunshine Coast and is a lifelong learner attending numerous professional developments.
