Craft a Sketchbook or Journal (Coptic Binding)
Description
Make your own sketchbook or journal using Coptic binding.
In this workshop you will: choose the type of papers for your project, make the signatures (folded page bundles), choose and prepare your board covers, and link the signatures with Coptic sewing.
At the end of the workshop you will come away with a lay-flat sketch book or journal, with an exposed spine kept together by decorative stitches, that is uniquely yours.
All materials and tools will be provided.
There is a minimum age 12 requirement due to the use of nails, needles and cutting gear. Children need to be accompanied by an adult.
FAQs
- Is there parking nearby?
There is some on street parking around the area, however please do not park outside the front of the building as that has been requested to be kept clear. There is an Asda further along which has parking and is a short walk away.
- Can I make a different sized notebook?
Technically, yes, you can make a smaller sized notebook with no problems, i.e. A7, A8.
However, a larger sized notebook, A5, A4, require so much more materials, it is not possible for this workshop at the moment.
