A beautiful way to mend your garments

Our upcoming Sashiko Crafternoon session offers a relaxed, guided exploration into the traditional Japanese art of functional fabric mending.

Loz will be walking you through the physical mechanics of the traditional running stitch, guiding you step-by-step through setting up layout grids on your textiles without any complicated machine configurations.

You can use this creative social space to master striking geometric patterns that reinforce and transform structural fabric surfaces instead of throwing them away. It is an ideal way to turn tears, scuffs, and thinning fabric sections into beautiful design statements while enjoying a hot brew with creative neighbours.

Loz will be showing you how to handle tricky seam lines and patch corners, making sure you leave with the practical confidence to rescue any worn garment hiding in your home wardrobe.

Workshop Details:
• Meet your host: Loz brings hands-on textile upcycling experience to the workbench, offering personalised stitching troubleshooting in an open environment.
• What to bring: We provide all base training components but you are highly encouraged to pack along your own worn denim jeans, chore jackets, or canvas tote bags that need repairs.
• Eco impact: Learning functional visible mending keeps textile waste entirely out of Fenland landfills while celebrating slow, mindful design habits close to home.

Whilst this workshop is provided with no charge to ensure equal access for all; donations to help us continue to offer creative opportunities are welcomes.
