CRAFTERNOONS
Description
Crafternoons are The Lock-Up’s monthly, hands-on contemporary art program for children and their families. Running on the last Saturday of each month, the program invites kids and adults to make, think, and experiment side by side, responding directly to The Lock-Up’s exhibition program.
When: Last Saturday of each month, February–December 2026
Time: 12.30pm - 3.30pm (drop in anytime)
Where: The Lock-Up Yard
Bookings encouraged, drop-ins welcome
Fully supplied and facilitated by trained arts educators
One donation per family (pay what you can)

WHAT TO EXPECT
Crafternoons are relaxed, welcoming, and exploratory. Activities are designed so children and adults can participate together at their own pace. Materials are provided, and facilitators are on hand to guide, prompt, and support making.
ACCESSIBILITY
The Lock-Up Yard and facilities are wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilets are available on site. Support workers, carers, and family members are welcome to participate. Activities are flexible and can be adapted where possible.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Activities may involve messy materials. Sessions run in most weather conditions; extreme weather updates will be shared online.

- Can I drop in at any time?
Bookings are recommended, but drop-ins are welcome if we have the space.
If you are not at the workshop within 15 minutes of the start time, your place may be given to another family.
