Writing Workshop: Crafting Dialogue

In this generative workshop, we'll use writing prompts and brief instructions to craft compelling dialogue that propels your story forward. Whether you're a seasoned writer or a novice, you'll discover new ways to enhance your dialogue skills.

In this workshop, you will:

• Discover how to give your characters distinctive voices through dialogue.
• Learn to use dialogue to differentiate characters without slowing the action.
• Explore various dialogue tags, identify which to avoid, and edit out redundancies.
• Create new writing from original prompts that add realism to your story.
• Understand the power of concise dialogue.
• Connect with fellow writers.
• Receive immediate, constructive feedback.

Our workshops are part lecture and part generative writing. We choose prompts based on themes of the week, education, craft, or creative value, so you can be sure you'll never run out of fresh ideas. We prioritize positive reinforcement and teaching techniques, so you'll leave each meeting feeling inspired and ready to tackle your next writing project.
