Crafting Short Stories
Event description
How does an idea, writing prompt, image or vignette become a self-contained story that offers insight into the world in just a few pages?
Beginning with the fundamentals of short fiction writing, this workshop will consider how we can open, close and structure our stories to best connect with readers.
Participants will receive examples, direction and practical advice on the features and effects that contribute to the remarkable nature of short stories.
This workshop is presented by Brooke Dunnell, a Boorloo/Perth-based writer whose short fiction has been published widely in journals and anthologies.
This session is for adults.
