FAQs

  • How will the gift swap work? 🎁

We will be hosting an optional gift swap in the Champagne Bar from 6:15pm. Simply bring along a small handmade or craft-related gift. You can leave it anonymous or sign it with your name and Instagram username if you are open to your recipient reaching out to you.

We will put all the presents in a pile, and then we will go around and select a present each (just don't pick your own!). Everyone who brings a gift will receive a gift.

If you do not bring a gift, you will not be able to receive a gift.

  • Who can come? 🩷
    • Everyone of all skill levels! Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a beginner, or if you just love going to the movies, this is for you.

    • Bring a friend, or come alone; We are a welcoming and inclusive community. From 6:15pm, we have exclusive access to the Champagne Bar for catching up or making new friends!

    • Our events are open to all ages, though we recommend checking the film's rating before bringing younger attendees. Some screenings may be more suitable for adults or teens depending on the film we're showing.

  • What kind of crafts can I bring? 🧢
    • All kinds of crafts are welcome as long as they aren't messy (i.e. no paint, glitter, liquid glue, water, etc.) or too loud (i.e. no portable sewing machines).

    • Please clean up after the film and ensure no craft mess is left behind! If mess is left, I will need to pay a cleaning fee.

    • Your crafts must fit within your booked seat.

    • Some ideas: Crocheting, knitting, journaling, scrapbooking, jewellery making, colouring in, doodling, drawing (digital or physical).

    • Each seat in the venue has a small table connected to the armrest. If you need a larger surface to craft on, you may want to bring along a clipboard or portable lap desk.

    • If you think you may need extra lighting, bring along a neck light.

  • What's the lighting like? πŸ’‘

The theatre lights will be dim for the duration of the film, similar to the lighting when the ads are on in a regular cinema screening. The lighting level varies across the theatre, so arrive early to select a seat with optimal lighting! We recommend you BYO portable lamp or neck light if you are worried about the lighting level.

  • Are seats allocated? πŸ’Ί
    • Seats are not allocated. Please arrive with enough time to choose where you want to sit.

  • Can I talk during the movie? πŸ’¬

We ask that you keep chat to a minimum during the film out of respect for other crafters. Quiet comments are fine (we're all human!), but please save longer conversations for before the screening or after the film ends.

If you'd like to socialise, come along to the optional pre-screening meetup in the foyer at 6:15 pm!

  • What's the food and drink situation? 🍿

Snacks and drinks are available to purchase at the candy bar.

  • How do I get to the venue? πŸš‚ πŸš—

Public Transport: Palace Raine Square is located across the road from the Perth Busport at Yagan Square and has direct underground connections to the cinema from Perth Underground Train Station. Free CAT bus stops are also located at Raine Square on both Wellington Street and Murray Street.

  • What is the accessibility like?
    • This venue and theatre are wheelchair accessible. If you need a dedicated wheelchair space in the theatre, please select this option when booking (places limited).

    • Unfortunately, open captions are not available for this film, as the distributor does not have a captioned version available.

    • Hearing loop / Telecoil is available.

    • If you are a Companion Card holder, enter the access code COMPANION at the ticket selection page to unlock free Companion Card tickets. You will still need to purchase a General Admission ticket for yourself. Please show your Companion Card upon entry.

    • Please show your Companion Card upon entry.

  • Why should I join the waitlist if the event is sold out?

If enough people join the waitlist, I may be able to upgrade to a larger theatre and open up more tickets!
