From kitchen wars to community group friction, our conversations can fuel conflicts. Instead, we can bring more peace to the way we interact with each other, one day at a time. As we develop more understanding about the dynamics in our conversations, we can create genuine connection that make life richer.

We will be exploring:

How to find what is at the heart of a conflict.
How to listen so a person feels heard, without necessarily agreeing with them.
How to maintain empathy for yourself and other whilst communicating.

This workshop is informed by Marshall Rosenberg's Non-Violent Communication (NVC), but is not a certified NVC training. Helen has explored NVC for four years and completed Foundation level training. The tools shared will give you a taste of NVC you can start applying straight away to improve the clarity of your communication. There will be suggested readings and courses if you wish to go on to a workshop offered by a certified trainer. There is also the option to form an informal practice group as a follow-on. Please note, this workshop is trauma-aware but not a therapy for trauma.
