Event description

Join with North Swan Landcare Group and the City of Swan at Ellenbrook Library (in the HyperLab) as we all learn from Dr. Christine Groom about how to make all our suburbs more welcoming for black cockatoos.

Dr Christine Groom, an expert in wildlife conservation, will share invaluable insights on how we can create habitats in our own backyards to support our magnificent Carnaby's cockatoos (short billed white tailed black cockatoos).

Learn about the importance of preserving natural habitats, planting native trees, providing suitably placed water sources and minimising disturbances to help these large birds thrive in our urban environment.

Dr Christine Groom will begin her author presentation at 2pm.

Commencing at 1.15pm Carnaby's Crusaders will be hosting a "Meet and Greet" the cockatoos - come along with Dean and his feathered friends and get up close and personal with these magnificent black cockatoos that live in and around the Ellenbrook area.

Dymocks Ellenbrook will have limited copies of Dr Christine Groom's book "Creating black cockatoo friendly suburbs - saving Carnaby's cockatoo in an urban context" for sale from 1.15pm onwards.

On the conclusion of Dr Christine Groom's presentation at 3pm - Dr Groom will provide a book signing.
