Creating branching scenarios using H5P

This session will fast-track you into building your own H5P Branching Scenarios and how to enhance these with rich media and open or single end design approaches.

Branching scenarios can allow learners to practice making decisions in a simulated environment.  Learners can see the consequences of their actions such as failure or success and this can be undertaken in risk free environment. The addition of rich media can enhance the learning experience by making it a more authentic and engaging experience. H5P has a tool that enables you to design and deliver branching scenarios with a user-friendly visual mapping tool, incorporation of rich media, feedback and branching options based on learner choices.

Engaging in this workshop will enable you to:

• identify course content where a branching scenario could enhance learning

• explore common types of branching scenarios including single endpoint vs multiple endpoints

• map out branching scenarios using a Miro board

• use detailed feedback to ensure a branching scenario is authentic and meaningful

• convert your design to a H5P branching scenario

• use media to enhance engagement and authenticity in the branching scenario in H5P
