Presenting critical immunisation information – COVID-19 and beyond: We developed text and infographics for the online edition of he Australian immunisation handbook.

Some extra information about the course

Infographics can communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences. But making an infographic is not the same as making an effective infographic.

Course topics

Introduction to infographics – maps out the territory and looks at examples.

Laying the groundwork – looks at what we must know and understand if we are to develop infographics efficiently, including:

  • audience – we must tune our message, level of complexity and form of presentation to audience needs if we are to communicate influentially

  • message – we must be clear on what we want to say

  • the nature of the data – we must illustrate our data with precision and integrity

  • constraints and use cases – we must fit our work to our resources and to how we are going to use it.

Choosing and designing the graphic – provides tips on how to select the most appropriate visual components, and then design them to a high standard.

Developing infographics – goes through the process from brief to concept to production.
