Creative Faces - An online course

Event description

Learn to draw and paint faces + create art that is rich with story and context + feed your creativity

This online course is your chance to explore a weekly art project that will inspire creativity in an extraordinary multi sensory way!
Over 12 weeks we will explore 12 classic archetypes - or characters - and create artworks based around them.  This self paced creative adventure is your invitation to spend as much or as little time as you like each week on your art work, and to make art YOUR way!

About the concept:
Archetypes are the 12 classic character types that most characters in books, films and stories are built from. Each character type has a set of classic behaviours, strengths, challenges and motivations that are instantly recognisable so we feel like we know them - These character profiles also have elements we find in our own personality, so it's an interesting process to notice what we identify with and what feels unfamiliar!

For example The Everyman who is an ordinary everyday person who is suddenly called upon to be a hero and  steps up for a big adventure (Harry Potter, Frodo from Lord of The Rings) or The Innocent, a youthful playful character with optimism and hope ( Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz) or The Creator a wildly imaginative change maker (Willy Wonka)

The twelve characters we will explore are:

a Ruler | a Jester | a Lover | a Healer  | a Magician | An Innocent | a Hero | a Sage| a Rebel | an Explore | An Every person | An Artist|

Archetypes are also a really inspiring concept to approach art making - and we will be creating drawings based on these characters
