Description

How do you protect what really matters in someone’s life? Find out in this full day practical workshop, for people with disabilities and their families and allies. Learn how to anticipate, plan for and reduce risks, while working towards full and meaningul lives in community. This workshop covers individual vulnerability and risk, and what really protects people and what doesn’t. You will leave with pro-active strategies and practical steps to strengthen the foundations of a good life.

This workshop has been co-designed by people with disability and their family members, and is intended to motivate and help you by sharing real life knowledge, experiences, and strategies.

At this workshop you will:
  • Recognise the essential role of people and community in safeguarding.

  • Develop safeguards tailored to an individual’s vulnerabilities and risks.

  • Identify what protects people, and what doesn’t.

  • Build on and strengthen safeguards you may already have in place.
