Creating supportive food environments in early childhood: Introducing the Best Practice Guide for Early Childhood Education and Care Food Environment Webinar

Food environments are an important but often overlooked part of children’s health, development, participation and everyday experiences in early childhood settings. This webinar will introduce the newly released Best Practice Guide for Early Childhood Education and Care Food Environment, an evidence-informed and practice-focused resource designed to support high-quality food environments across ECEC.

Ros will provide an overview of how the Guide was developed, introduce its six interconnected modules, and explore how the Guide can be used by early childhood intervention and allied health professionals. The webinar will consider opportunities for practitioners to support services, educators, children and families while working within professional scope and alongside the broader ECEC team.

There will also be an opportunity to consider how food environments intersect with areas of practice relevant to children’s participation, inclusion, development and wellbeing.
