CREATIVE AGE: STREAM 1 SUMMER
Event description
Heide Creative Age Programs Stream 1Â For adults living with dementia and their carers
Everyone has the capacity for creative expression and enjoyment. Heide’s Creative Age Programs are designed specifically for people living with early stage dementia and their carers to discover their creativity through the nonverbal avenue of art, and to promote health and wellbeing. The programs run in two streams:Â
Join qualified art therapist Tanis Douglas in Heide’s beautiful gardens, sculpture park and galleries for life-enhancing small group activities that facilitate interpersonal connections. Each session includes art therapy utilising nature-based materials in a workshop setting and is adapted to best suit individual needs and bridge any barriers. Participants will experience the emotional and social joys of being with others in a welcoming environment.
Art therapist Tanis Douglas is trained in integrating art and psychology and sees all program participants as respected collaborators, assisting them to express themselves and access their creativity.
Heide’s Creative Age programs are kindly supported by the Phil Taylor Foundation
