Creative Altar Building w/ Shel
Event description
In this 2.5-hour workshop Shel will guide participants through a series of grounding exercises, visualizations and prompts to nourish our sacred creative space. This will be a space for us (artists, energy & body workers, community healers) to get clear about our creative landscape and reconnect with our nourishing practices.
Together we will identify the symbols, sacred items, foods and rituals that belong on our personal creative altars.
Flexible Flow:
Grounding meditation & visualization
Shel will open the space with a light body scan before leading the group into a visualization practice. Participants will connect with their Creative Temple, an etheric space that houses their creative spirits and guides. This practice draws on IFS (internal family systems) and parts work, supporting participants in shaping their own experience while Shel offers verbal guidance. After about 15 (Earth) minutes, we will transition into a free-write to catch all our downloads.
Group check-in
Sharing any visions, seeds or threads that emerged from the opening exercise.
Creative altar building
Altars are portals. If you were to construct a portal to regularly visit and connect with your Creative Temple, what items would you place on an altar? What rituals will help you stay in reciprocity with this sacred place?
Together, we will spend time dream catching through journaling and art making. Participants will have space (25- 30 Earth minutes) to begin designing their Creative Altar with practices that may include drawing, list-making, and writing poems/affirmations.
Group close-out
We will close our circle by giving folks a chance to share any dream seeds or emerging intentions that they want to explore outside the space. Then, we will do one more grounding and gratitude exercise before leaving the space.
Downloadable content
Participants will receive a 2-page PDF with a sample Creative Altar drawing and additional exercises for further inspiration.
