Creative Clinic: Bookbinding with Bina Butcher

Learn the art of bookbinding with Bina Butcher.
In this creative clinic, you will be introduced and guided through the process of coptic bookbinding, a no glue binding technique.You will use an assortment of recycled materials such as old book and magazine pages, found papers, old drawings, prints or artworks and even fabric, so be sure to bring along anything you think you would like to include in your book!
Bina will provide an assortment of materials that you can also include in your artwork. You will curate and hand bind your own unique artist book or diary. No experience necessary.
Tickets are $10 for City of Belmont residents, and $15 for Non-City of Belmont residents. Suitable for participants aged 15 years and over.
About Bina:
Bina Butcher is a practicing artist based in Perth WA who has a focus on printmaking practices. She graduated from Curtin University in 2016 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts and has been involved in several group and collaborative shows in WA, VIC, TAS and the UK. Bina has worked as a printmaking technician at Curtin University, a tutor in Fine Arts at UWA and has facilitated many workshops at art centres and festivals throughout the South West. Her workshops cover everything from printmaking basics such as monoprint, dry point etching, screen printing, embossing and woodcut; to more in depth processes that can include chine cole’, paper lithography, cyanotype, bookbinding and much more.
