Creative Connections 6/14
Event description
Nurture your creativity!
Saturday, June 14th, from 12-2pm.
$20/all materials provided.
Join artist and educator Kennedy Cottrell for two hours of Creative Connections: an inclusive, adaptive art class designed specifically for autistic children to explore their creativity in an empowering environment. More than just an art class—it's a space where participating youth will engage in artistic expression freely, build confidence, and connect with others through creative exploration.
Kennedy will work with students and their families to identify personal artistic goals, adapt instruction to meet each participant's needs, and encourage individual expression using a wide range of materials—recycled and repurposed supplies provided by SCRAP.
A bit about the facilitator: Kennedy Cottrell is an artist with a deep passion for creativity, inclusion, and education. She has hands-on experience as a special education aide, and is familiar with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices and basic American Sign Language (ASL). Over time, Kennedy has seen firsthand how art can be a powerful bridge for expression, especially for children on the autism spectrum. We're so happy she's hosting Creative Connections!
