There is something truly special about painting outdoors. The changing light, gentle sounds of nature and simply slowing down long enough to notice what is around you can be unexpectedly joyful. Join us at beautiful Greenwood Lakes, Forestdale and experience the magic of en plein air (open-air) painting for yourself.

The best studio has no walls

Guided by experienced tutors from Logan Artists Association, these relaxed outdoor sessions invite you to immerse yourself in the landscape and capture the colours, reflections and atmosphere of this unique waterside setting within the Oxley Creek catchment.

Absolutely no art experience is required — this is a must-do experience for anyone curious to try something new. You may be surprised to discover you have more of a creative streak than you think. There is no pressure, no right or wrong, just the opportunity to enjoy creating outdoors in a welcoming and supportive environment.

At the same time, experienced painters are warmly encouraged to attend and enjoy the opportunity to paint alongside others in an inspiring natural setting.

All materials are provided free of charge, including canvases, acrylic paints, brushes and easels — simply bring yourself and enjoy the experience.

Notes:

If you have favourite brushes or art supplies you enjoy using, please feel free to bring them along. Participants may also like to bring a camping chair or stool for extra comfort while painting outdoors.

Whether you are a Forestdale local, from elsewhere in Logan, or simply curious to discover one of Greater Brisbane’s quietly beautiful urban landscapes, we would love to welcome you.

Places are limited and bookings are essential. 🌿

Two sessions available:

Saturday 1st August Morning 10am-12noon or Afternoon 1pm-3pm (Please RSVP according your preferred time through the correct Humanitix event)

Age - Children must be accompanied by a guardian. 8+ is best please advise if younger children will be accompanying you.
