Michele Richards-Berry
Michele Richards-Berry is a New Zealand based photography agent and producer who loves working alongside advertising and photography creatives to create beautiful, meaningful work. Her early career began in the corporate sector, but it did not take long to realise she needed more creativity in her world. Swapping suits for a start up environment, she learned how to stretch every budget, do what is required regardless of hours, and always look for the opportunity in front of her. Those foundations continue to shape her approach to business growth and production today. As the founder of her own agency, Michele has built a career on identifying and developing emerging photographic talent, shaping portfolios with commercial awareness and helping photographers establish lasting careers within the advertising industry. Many of New Zealand’s leading advertising photographers have grown under her representation, guided by her instinct for potential and her understanding of what the market demands. With ambition and a clear sense of direction, she expanded the business beyond New Zealand, building production relationships across Asia, Europe and the United States, and actively promoting both New Zealand as a premium shoot destination and its photographers on the global stage. Those international partnerships remain strong and active today. Michele is known for her collaborative approach, big picture thinking and disciplined production style. She partners with agencies, brands and creative teams to simplify complex production, align the right talent, anticipate challenges early and bring ideas to life with clarity, craft and confidence. She integrates quickly into teams, protects the creative vision and ensures commercial realities are managed with care and precision. After more than 25 years in the industry, one principle remains constant. Exceptional work is built on strong relationships, clear communication and the ability to balance creative ambition with sound judgement. Alongside production, Michele maintains a strong commitment to industry advocacy. As a founding sponsor of Women’s Work, she contributes to conversations around career pathways, conscious creativity and the evolving role of producers and agents in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable industry. Diversity, equality and sustainability are not trends in her business. They are embedded in how she selects talent, builds teams and runs productions.
