Event description

At Creative HQ’s Certificate in Innovation Delivery, you’ll learn a range of skills and techniques to confidently facilitate in-person workshops, sprints or meetings. If you are interested in online delivery, make sure to check out our new Certificate in Online Delivery.

The Certificate is made up of three workshops: Making a great start, Front of room, and In the thick of it. Attend one workshop or sign up for the whole lot. If you complete all three workshops, you’ll be awarded the Certificate in Innovation Delivery.

The course is taught in person, through an immersive and applied process. All sessions run 12pm to 5pm at Creative HQ office in Dixon Street, Wellington.

12 OCT / MAKING A GREAT START

This workshop is all about getting off to a strong start. The focus is on the pre-workshop preparation and kick-off of your project.

You’ll learn how to create the ultimate pre-event checklist to ensure that both clients and participants have clear expectations. We’ll discuss how to build an inclusive facilitation space that sets up the group for success.

19 OCT / FRONT OF ROOM

The second workshop is centred on your front of room skills – how do you get the most out of the people in front of you? We’ll focus on your facilitation skills and explore some key people management techniques.

We’ll explore how you can use body language, voice and listening skills to manage a variety of situations in front of you. We will look at how to successfully work with different personality types (individually and in groups) and how to give appropriate feedback.

25 OCT / IN THE THICK OF IT

The third and final workshop focuses on the actual running of the workshop or sprint. We will look at how to facilitate groups towards consensus and outcomes while maintaining neutrality.

We’ll explore techniques to maintain energy in the room, manage group dynamics and wellbeing, and develop data conveyance skills. We will also consider the differences between facilitating online and in-person.
