Build your entrepreneurial skills and get the guidance you need to launch or grow your startup.

Calling all new founders and small business owners - after selling out in the first week of launching, Creative HQ startup sessions are back in 2023. If you are looking to upskill and deepen your understanding of what it takes to run a business, you've come to the right place.

Select the session that best suit your needs or sign up for the whole lot. Sessions run both in person, from our Creative HQ office in Wellington and online, 5.30pm-7.00pm.

28 Feb - Customer Value and Pricing

Key metrics that make or break your business. Find out what to track and how to make the most out of customer value!

Pricing is one of the most important but least understood marketing decisions. How do you focus on maximising value in pricing strategy? Learn concepts and techniques to utilise the latest thinking on assessing and formulating pricing strategies.


07 Mar - Funding and Investment

What are funding and investment? What opportunities exist for capital? What do investors look for and how do you pitch to them? Come along to this session to learn more about getting ready to raise your first investment.


14 Mar - Community and People Leadership

We all know that the most important aspect of life is the people around you – and this isn’t any different with your business. We’ll be breaking down what is to build a community, support your team, and maintain a long lasting relationship for growth.

21 Mar - Marketing, Brand and Promotion

What kind of marketing is right for your business? Should you be on social media? We’ll cover this and more in this session, covering the foundations of what good marketing looks like. We’ll give you an overview of branding, design thinking, trends and research.

28 Mar - Goals, Vision and Business Potential

How can you set your startup goals, vision and find your business potential? This course will help you think “big picture” and it will show you how to set short and long term goals.

We’ll show you a framework to find out what makes you and your startup special, and what opportunities you have to grow and measure success.

04 Apr - Sales and Marketing

Sales – that’s a big topic! So we are going to break this down and help you build a strategy that is right for you, because it’s not just about
selling, it’s about who you are selling to, how your product fits in the market, and what resources you have available to make that close.
