Creative Reuse Carnival

Creative Reuse Carnival, taking place on Friday, May 2nd from 4pm-7pm at the Riverside Arts Center in downtown Ypsilanti.

This fun-filled community event – hosted in joint effort with First Fridays Ypsilanti celebrates community, sustainability, creativity, and the joy of making something new out of what might otherwise go to waste. 

The Creative Reuse Carnival will feature an array of games and crafts, all of which have been designed using reuse materials. From carnival games to prizes, every element of the event is rooted in the spirit of creative reuse. This event encourages attendees of all ages to embrace the value of sustainability and creativity in our community. 

In addition to attendees, we are seeking volunteers to help create games, host craft tables, and help with event set up and tear down on May 2nd. SCRAP will also be hosting a special Carnival Volunteer Day at SCRAP A2 on Thursday, April 17th. Volunteers will help create kits for game prizes and help build games for the carnival.  Volunteer Form 

The Creative Reuse Carnival is generously sponsored by Riverside Arts Center, whose support has made it possible to offer this event in a fun, community-centered venue. The Riverside Arts Center, located in downtown Ypsilanti, offers, promotes, and nurtures dynamic arts and cultural programs through arts education, performing arts, visual and fine arts activities that serve and engage the community of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, and the surrounding area.
