Barrett House Studios December Opening
Event description
Join us as we celebrate and share the work of our current Barrett House Studios artists – Angélique Moseley, Renate Rienmueller and Flin Sharp
Barrett House Studios facilitates fully subsidised three-month residencies for multidisciplinary artists. Our December opening provides the first glimpse at works created before studios open to the public.
Three artists will share the fruits of their labour over the last three months. Immerse yourself in their three studio spaces converted to galleries. Exhibition details to come.
Refreshments will be served.
Held: armours that sustain existence is the culmination of Angélique’s residency in the Mabel Studio at Barrett House. Their exhibition includes projection works, digi prints, copper engravings and paintings on birch — united by her focus on line art. Each literal and figurative armour began as a digital draft to reduce waste and embraces the physical properties of the final medium.
The Artist Lens_East side_2024_Ü is the culmination of Renate’s residency in the Garage Studio at Barrett House. This new body of work includes a series of cyanotypes and black and white hand printed silver gelatine portraits of local artists. Also on display is a large-scale self portrait of mixed media that will have a limited edition print run, and some of her wet plate work from the last 10 years.
Flin Sharpe in studio is the culmination of Flin's residency in the Franklyn Studio at Barrett House. Flin's artistic practice amalgamates image references from forgotten internet archives, museum collections, newspaper comic strips and periods of painting, connecting points throughout art history to the daily processes of studio work. His new work, reconstitutes old works, churned into new images related to his wider artistic practice as a whole.
