    Event description

Join us as we celebrate and share the work of our current Barrett House artists in residence – Lily Golightly, Jen Friedland and Sean O'Brien.

Creative Space Barrett House facilitates fully subsidised three-month residencies for multidisciplinary artists. Our September opening provides the first glimpse at works created before studios open to the public.

the in between is the culmination of Jen’s residency in the Garage Studio at Barrett House. Her exhibition includes oil paintings featuring familial connections and local personalities. Jen has used her time to explore natural pigments in these works and sculptural forms using recycled materials.

like liquorice and television is the culmination of Lily’s residency in the Franklyn Studio at Barrett House. Her exhibition features works which include painting, sculpture, textiles and multimedia. Lily has experimented with papermaking and eco-dying as part of her residency.

Near/Far – desert landforms is the culmination of Sean’s residency in the Mabel Studio at Barrett House. Sean’s work speaks to the landscape he has explored - paper in hand creating drawings in situ. These drawings are now the inspiration for his current exhibition.

    Refreshments will be served.
