People are multi-‘layered’ and when we read, we want these people to be as nuanced, flawed and multifaceted as we are.
In this class we will explore all those layers, from outward appearance to deepest values and secrets. By studying the character you are most familiar with, you will gain insights into how to construct rich and compelling fictional characters. You’ll take away useful tools you can use forever.

Who will be teaching?
Liliane Grace (she/her) has been writing since childhood, teaching Creative Writing for over thirty years, and working as an editor of fiction and non-fiction throughout the 2000s.
Her award-winning first novel was followed by another four, plus two children’s picture books. She is currently working on a YA novel and writing a musical about health. (Thanks to RADF for a grant to write thefirst draft!).
