The WestWords Living Stories Competition returns in 2025!


Join us for an engaging creative writing workshop designed for children, youth and adults. Learn expert tips and techniques from Kennedy Estephan to craft compelling short stories and discover how to enter the competition.


Participants must be 16 years old and over to attend the program. To ensure the success and safety of the program, anyone outside of the specified age range may have their ticket cancelled.

About the facilitator: Kennedy Estephan, a full-time science teacher since 1989, migrated to Australia in 1987 and has been deeply involved in the Parramatta community, where much of his writing and research takes place. His manuscript, "Whispers", a literary fiction, was submitted to the WestWords Accelerator and is set in a single, hour-long moment. Kennedy is a 2023 WestWords-Varuna Emerging Writers’ Resident and has been a finalist and winner in several short-story competitions, with his work featured in various literary publications and broadcasts.
