Cricut Basics: Wood Sign Making with Vinyl
Event description
In this class, you will learn the basics of using a Cricut machine to create your own custom wood sign. You will learn how to choose the right materials, how to design your sign, and how to cut and apply the vinyl and embellishments. You will also learn how to personalize your sign with your own text and images.
This class is perfect for beginners who are new to Cricut machines. No prior experience is required.Â
What You Will Learn:
- How to choose the right materials for your sign
- How to design your sign in Cricut Design Space
- How to cut the vinyl and embellishments
- How to apply the vinyl and embellishments to your sign
- How to personalize your sign with your own text and images
Participants must bring:Â
- A Cricut Machine - Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Explore 3, the Cricut Maker, the Cricut Maker 3, or the Cricut Joy. The machine must be in working order and must have its power cord
- A laptop with Cricut Design Space installed
- A green standard cutting mat
- Weeding tools

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS
This class is available to take In Person at our Montclair NJ Shop, or online Virtually on Zoom. For the Virtual class participants can opt to take the class with a DIY Kit or choose to receive a shopping list.
IN PERSON CLASS
If a participant chooses to take the class In Person, then they are taking the class at our shop located at 547 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair NJ.
VIRTUAL CLASS
If a participant chooses to take the class Virtually, they will receive a Zoom link. For Virtual Classes a participant can choose to receive a DIY Kit or a Shopping List.
To receive your DIY Kit in a timely manner, register at least a week or earlier in advance to reserve your materials for shipping or local curbside pick up. Please provide your shipping address when registering.
DIY Kit includes wood sign blank, vinyl, and embellishments.
Participants who register for a Virtual class with a Shopping List will be emailed a list of materials, utensils, appliances, and other items needed to participate in the workshop. Participants are responsible for sourcing their materials in time for class. Participants are welcome to contact us for recommendations as to where they can source their materials.
APPROPRIATE AGES FOR PARTICIPATION
Participants must be at least 13 years old or older and can work independently. If a participant needs a caretaker or parent to assist with the project the assisting person does not need a ticket.
CLASS PARTICIPATION
This is a Live event. In Person and Virtual Class Participants must attend on the scheduled date and time of the class in order to partake. There is no recorded session available for replay. If an In Person Participant is unable to attend the class in Person they can request to join the class Virtually and we can arrange accommodations. If a Virtual Class participant is unable to log onto a class on the day and time it is scheduled then it is the participant’s responsibility to contact us prior to the event for accommodations. If a participant is unable to join and needs to reschedule, there is a rescheduling fee that will be billed to the participant. If we as the organizers need to reschedule an event there is no rescheduling fee, and participants will be notified of any changes.
CANCELATION & RESCHEDULING
Participants who purchase a class on our Class Schedule are eligible for a refund if the request is submitted 7 days in advance of the class date. If the Participant booked a Virtual Class with a DIY Kit they are eligible for a reschedule. Participants who submit a request 6 days or less in advance are eligible for a 50% refund or an opportunity to apply credit to a future class. There is a $25 rescheduling fee to reschedule a class. INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION
If you live outside of the United States there is an additional fee to ship DIY kits. Participants are responsible for any duty fees, customs fees, or any additional fees associated with receiving their DIY Kits. If a participant chooses to get a DIY Kit it is the participant’s responsibility to make sure their country can receive packages from the US.
