Event description

Murder Under Investigation

A Crime Fiction workshop

*Six sessions over eight weeks*

Sessions are two hours each and include a nearby field trip to examine a special crime scene.

The course is a good mix of analysis, technique, plot and character, sprinkled with fun and the odd dash of wicked laughter, served up with a practical, hands-on approach. No previous detection experience necessary but do bring your devilish imagination, plus a lively interest in the genre, and watch your confidence grow.

*Please note that ticket cost includes all 6 sessions. Just choose first session (5th July) when booking.

On completion of the course you should be able to:

1.     Apply greater scrutiny to various aspects of the genre, as both reader and writer

2.      Understand the importance of settings - with a first hand viewing of a fictitious crime setting

3.      Refer to a number of pieces written during the course with a view to continuing the learning process in a practical way

4.      Have a good idea about beginnings, satisfactory conclusions, and working towards developing the learning process further

5.      Know more about where to look for plot line inspiration

6.      Tackle structure and narrative challenges with more confidence
