Event description

KITA is pleased to bring to the Island Cultural Awareness Training, with Mark Koolmatrie. Learning more and understanding Indigenous culture is important for the tourism industry, and these short sessions are designed to help to inform, and answer those unanswered questions.

These workshops are suited to all business operators and their staff. The sessions include a two-hour interactive workshop, during which participants can ask questions to seek a deeper understanding, a morning or afternoon tea, and a cultural walk with Mark.

During the sessions, Mark will:

- Share insights on what it means to be Ngarrindjeri and the connection to Kangaroo Island.

- Explore the perspectives of the Kaurna and Narungga regarding their connections to the Island.

- Enhance participants' understanding of Indigenous culture.

- Address opportunities for collaboration with Indigenous communities.

There will be two sessions available:

10.00 am - 12.00 noon at the Ozone Hotel, Kingscote

2.30 pm - 4.30 pm at the Penneshaw CFS Station
